Marrakech From Day to Day
Day 1 ° > Fuengirola
Welcome to exotic Fuengirola. If you ride your own bike, you can come at any time... or maybe you are there already!? If you are riding a rental bike, then come until 3 pm, then we will have time to pick up your bike from the rental shop. When we are all Fuengirola, it's time for a San Miguel... or two a few words about the days to come!
Day 2 ° Fuengirola - Tanger Med - Rabat
390km, 5h 36m ° b,l,d
Departure to Algericas. Our goal is to be on the ferry which leaves at 12 noon! Lunch on the ferry and on the Moroccan side we head
towards the country’s capital Rabat. In practice, our 1st driving day is also the most serious day, if we talk about landscapes! And even so, this is not a bad day at all!
Day 3 ° Rabat - Marrakech
341km, 5h 40m ° b,l,d
In the morning we are a bit cultural and we visit the 2 main sights in Rabat. Hassan Tower and the tomb of King Mohamed V! From there we head southeast to the beautiful countryside and Khourigba! After Khourigba we continue towards legendary Marrakech! Tonight we have our dinner at the world-famous Marrakech square!
Day 4 ° Marrakech
Day off as you like! The old town is a big attraction in itself and many merchants will be happy to sell you a rug or two! Bahia Palace is one of the most magnificent palaces in Marrakech. Nearby is the magnificent Sadad Tombstone! Majorelle Gardens is also a great place to visit. It is the studio and museum of the French fashion guru Yves Saint Laurent. If you feel for riding, you might want to go south of Marrakech to Terres D'amanar and Imlil, which are both perfect for a 3-4h drive!
Day 5 ° Marrakech - Gorges Du Danes
345km, 5h 56m ° b,l,d
Today is just a wonderful, great and awesome driving day! First of all, we drive up to Tizi n'Ticha where we must take a few 'mandatory' landscape pictures! From there down towards Ouarzazate which is also a good place for today's local 'mcdonalds'! From Ouarzazate to Boulmanne Dades from where to the lush landscapes of the Gorges Du Dades! And we will stay in those landscapes overnight!
Day 6 ° Gorges Du Dades - Gorges Du Todra - Merzouga
300km, 4h 34m ° b,l,d
Yesterday was a great driving day and... today is a great driving day also! First we drive to Tinghir, from where we turn into the magnificent Gorges Du Todra Valley! GDT is also a great place for a mint tea or two ... and for many pictures. From the Gorges du Todra we drive to the edge of the Sahara desert, to Merzouga! At Merzouga, we change our motorcycles to camels and ride into the Sahara for the night!
Day 7 ° Merzouga - Errachidia
126km, 1h 53m ° b,l,d
Breakfast in the desert and with camels back to Merzouga! In Merzouga, we visit MNAM ... the Moroccan National Automobile Museum ... which is naturally here in this small village on the edge of the Sahara! And this day is a bit like a half-day off. From Merzouga, we have a relaxed 126 km to our next destination Errachidia!
Day 8 ° Errachidia - Ifrain - Fes
335km, 5h 34m ° b,l,d
Very nice driving day towards the north! Lots of countryside, beautiful mountains and lots of fun curves and bends! Along the way, we also have the lively university town of Ifrain, where you can ski in January and February! However, we don’t wait for Ifrain’s ski season to open, instead we ancient Fes, which is full of history!
Day 9 ° Fes - Chefchauen
306km ° 4h 38m ° b,l,d
Morocco is known for its sheepskin and Fes leather factories! In the morning, we do a couple of hours circuit in the labyrinths of Medina ’old town. So-called must-visit in Fes is the world's oldest tannery, Chouara Tannery! And no matter what, after the Medina of Fes, we have another wonderful driving day ahead of us. The film Smurfs has not been shot in Chefchaouen but in Juzcar in Andalusia! Chefchauen is blue because it was painted blue by Spanish Jewish refugees in 1492 after escaping the Inquisition from Europe!
Day 10 ° Chefchauen - Ceuta - Fuengirola
256km, 5h 29m ° b,l,d
In the morning with our feet into the Blue Medina of Chefchauen... and maybe a mint-tea or two! Around noon, we put our driving gears on and head towards Spain in Africa, Ceuta! From Ceuta a ferry to Algericas, from where to Fuengirola! In Fuengirola, a (late?) farewell dinner and our Africa adventure have come to its end!
Day 11 ° Fuengirola >
0km ° b
Tour ends! You are free to leave any time. You returned your bike yesterday when we came to the city... if you had a rental bike!
